I got the combo at an event and it was SOOO GOOD. The food was so flavorful and delicious. The mac and cheese is definitely a favorite of all the vegan macs i’ve tried. The greens were tasty. The ribs were great. Can’t wait to try more from their menu!

A new place for us. We tried the drumsticks, sloppy joe, spicy chicken sandwich. Our favorite was the drumsticks. It's a bit expensive for a 4 piece, but if you want to indulge once in a while, it is worth it. The sloppy joe was ok and not impressive. It tasted more like ground meat with bbq sauce and not really like sloppy joes. The spicy chicken was ok too, but the ciabatta bread they used kept breaking apart, so in the end, both of our hands and face were a hot mess. A different type of bread would have been best. It also didn't have the correct meat to bread ratio since half of our bread didn't have chicken. The service took longer than anticipated. Someone left since their order was not complete, and they were informed of an additional hour of wait time. We placed our order upon entering and didn't receive it until an hour later. It seems that customers go more for the hot plates than the menu, so my theory is they are more focus on the hot food than what is on the menu and don't have enough workers for both sections. Staff was ok, I'm not sure if it was just their normal behavior or because we were a different ethnicity, and the majority of people visiting are not Hispanic. Either way, we didn't take too much offense. I'm giving it a 3 stars since I plan to return and try the hot food. That way, I can better judge their food since their best dishes may be there.

I placed my order over the phone, the employee who answered & took my order was awesome!! I got an Italian V w/ sweet potato fries & it was AMAZING!! I couldn’t stop eating it!! Looooooooove the fact the all the ingredients were healthy… this is one of those places that’s worth comin to the hood for!! 😎💪🏽❣️ I will definitely be back!! One of my new faves 🥰

I have been a loyal customer for 10 or more years despite the poor service after America and her husband are no longer present. The food is 7/10. I used to love all of their food however I started eating the greens because they seem to be healthier. Lately the customer service has become poor. Staff isn’t friendly and the service is slow. On my last visit o went in for greens and was told after u inquired that the cornbread was not ready. After talking to another employee and the manager I was informed that the cornbread is going to be a while. The manager was pleasant however she said that the cornbread is complimentary and I can have a refund. I was somewhat dissapointed that she didn’t offer any apologies or alternatives. Unfortunately, this will be my last visit to Soul Veg. 😑

I went here with a friend who is vegan and loves to eat the food here. It was kind of confusing at first because there is the food line where the food is dolled out cafeteria style, but then there is also a menu that can be ordered off of, but it wasn’t the clearest on how to order from said menu. There are two registers, but only one person was consistently working the main register for the buffet food line. So, it made it unclear which line to stand in when just getting a dessert, which is by the sometimes managed second register. The food was fine. I think I was envisioning more of a sit down and serve experience, but it seems like the counter service is serving them and their typical clientele. In some ways, the food was similar to other vegan places I’ve gone to: mushy consistency or bland colors. The flavors were fine, but I guess I was just looking for something different. The desserts were tasty—the frosting a was a bit too sweet for my tastes, but the cake was moist and dense. They seem to specialize in smoothies and have a vegan soft serve with rotating flavors. They have various bottled juices as well. I got the strawberry lemonade, which was good but also very sweet. It also seemed a bit more expensive than expected for the quality. Food cost is estimated by weight. So, although not more expensive than a sit down restaurant. Still more expensive than I would’ve expected. Also, the dining area was nice they played nice music, but there was no one bussing tables or managing the trash which was overflowing. I liked the vibe in there, but it seemed perhaps they had a bit of a staffing shortage that day.
