I was going here for convenience of location. He had a good selection and although he overcharged for most things, it was still less than the cost of gas to drive further on to the next location. He was a nice guy, though I had watched him more than once call people liars for saying his prices were high. Once on the phone and once in person to someone SHOWING him the prices of the other smoke shop halfway down 41. Still called him a liar. What... does he think the guy hacked the website? lol I still went, though. Location was still good. That was until one day I had a strange transaction with the staff while he was not there. Instead of tapping my credit card, they insisted I insert it into the card machine and said "tapping doesn't work." I told them I had tapped every single time for the last 3 years but they said "yeah it's not working today." So I inserted my chip card. Whatever. At least I THOUGHT it was "whatever" until that very same night I saw a charge declined on my bank app for "Thursday Boots" an online store I didn't even know existed. It got declined so I left it alone. 3 days later I see a slew of new charges, many of them to stores right in the area such as the Walmart and Lowe's located just on the other side of 54 in Lutz. I call the bank and they say there's even more charges coming in but it's all online so they can't track who is doing it. They just cancelled everything, shut the card down, and mailed me a new one. No damage to me. I call the smoke shop and tell him what happened but he called me a liar. I should have seen that coming. He said the employees were his nephews and they are "loaded with money" so they'd never do that. I told him about the strange transaction, that I had not used my card anywhere else in 2 weeks, and the charges started within hours of the transaction at his shop. Not only did he still INSIST that I'm lying, that he couldn't possibly be involved nor his staff, nor his machine, but he also said that he's telling me the same thing that he told the last THREE people who told him they got skimmed at his shop. He swears up and down that all four of us were coincidentally swindled by online hackers, coincidentally right after going to his store. Okay buddy. If you plan to do business with this shop, make sure he is present because it never happened on his watch. Basic advice: If you see other employees there and he is not there, walk back out... or pay cash. His nephews or whatever they are? Either they are swindling scumbags or they are getting tricked by a friend who is.
