Every person I have dealt with there is friendly and knowledgeable. They are attentive and willing to spend as much time with you as needed so you leave feeling like you have the right "medicine" for what ails you, and not "snake oil". I am not writing this in lieu of reward or discount. This is my honest opinion of my experience with this establishment. As long as I am in the area, (I live 3 hrs away) they are my go to for my health food and supplement needs.

I accidentally gave the guy an extra 20$ bill. I was almost out of the store but the guy called me back to give me the money. He could’ve easily kept it without me knowing. Good person!
Good variety of products. Bulk herbs, fresh fruits & vegetables, frozen items, etc. I bought some bulk bee pollen and bulk dried elderberries. Lady working the floor was helpful without being pushy and annoying.
I’ll go back every time that I’m in the neighborhood.

It's like a Whole Foods but smaller; the best thing is that it's a small business and not a large corporation. That being said, lots of great items. From chemical-free beauty products to vegan, dairy free and gluten free foods in cans, packages, and frozen foods. Fresh organic produce too, and, at times, ready-to-go sandwiches and salads. Their tea selection is also worthy of praise - it's upstairs - huge and varied selection. I'm so glad this place exists!

I'm very thankful that this grocery store exists in Castro valley. It used to be the only dedicated organic grocery stores for many miles around. The store is quite small so they are relatively limited in what they carry, but they do have a good amount of the basics for the size. The prices seem standard for organic foods. I have been shopping here for years and I've never had any complaints. The staff is very friendly and I've gotten to know many of them as great people over the years
