Wonderful store, great selection, and genuinely caring owners (and security guards!) who really want to give back to the community. Oakland may not be the safest place (especially as an unprepared first-time visitor) but I’m thankful for the staff of Root’d—both for their recommendations, and for their kindness.
Thanks for all of your help when i visited a few weeks ago. Y’all really made a difficult day better.

Best spot in the east bay, huge selection, best prices around. Cheap and nice rosin, so many different types of hash, potent edibles, what led could you ask for. Oh and knowledgeable staff that help give informed fact based recommendation.

Went in for my first time today. I was blown away by the customer service and how informative they were. The prices are top notch and so much variety. I got a few goodies and will be back for more. Cant wait for the lounge to open

I very much appreciated the assistance and guidance I received at Root’d. Friendly, helpful, caring. Didn’t make me feel like a dummy because of my lack of knowledge of the products. I was buying for a cancer patient and the help I received in selecting appropriate products was much appreciated. The gifts I appreciated were useful, and I plan to return

I experienced discrimination and racism on the basis of my race and religion yesterday. They posted anti-semitic stickers on their tip jars. My Jewish friends warned me not to shop there when the first sticker appeared, and now they added two more even more aggressively racist stickers. I made one of the stickers not visible anymore, and they literally kicked me out and banned me from the dispensary (the employee waited until after I left a tip on top of being charged 32% tax to state his objection to me removing this racist graffiti of a sticker).
Apparently it was the staff who posted the anti-semitic stickers, because they started saying stuff about how it's free speech to post (anti-semitic) stickers, as though my speech is not free but theirs is. It's interesting how this business sees posting racist stickers as free speech, but was so confused about free speech in removing hate speech graffiti on their public business. I asked the owner if she did not want Jews to shop there by posting anti-semitic stickers, and she replied that she did not want me to shop there. She ironically seemed confused how this symbol of hate, intimidation, and diminishing my family's suffering would not be something a paying customer in America should have to encounter to buy goods and services.
I will never return to this anti-semitic establishment, and will warn all other Jews to not shop here.
