Don't buy ginseng there. It's overpriced (they don't have explicit price tag on ginseng). I bought two boxes ($50 each) and I found he same one is sold at the price of $32 in a Chinese supermarket nearby.

The older woman working behind the counter doesn’t know how to speak kindly. Her cold tone and customer service made me uncomfortable. Initially saw that the store has a variety of herbal remedies, and I went inside to ask for a specific recipe that I usually get from California (thinking they might have it too) but she sarcastically dismissed my inquiry. Her response was unexpected and rude, so I decided to leave.

I really like this place, I've been going there for a few years. I usually buy my Chinese ginger tea there. ☕ It's very good and has good ingredients, Ginger, brown sugar, honey, longan and red date. This is really good if you have a cold or flu. 🤢 I like to drink it just about anytime, especially in the cold weather. ❄️ There's lots of exploring to doing in this store, especially if you're into Chinese medicine. They have just about everything you can imagine. The worker's speak Chinese so be prepared to pretty much be on your own. There is a young girl that works there that does speak English, so she can be a great help if you happen to be there when she is working. The outside of the store looks old and maybe a bit run down but don't be fooled, inside is fine, nothing fancy but has lots of stuff of interest.

Love this Oasis of herbs not easily found. Smells divine walking in.

I had a really bad experience shopping at this place. We went in with a prescription from the doc with around 16 herbs. I know this is a lot but employee at Man Bac Hong let other people who came in later get their meds first simple because they have less number of herbs on their prescription. When it was our turn, they told us one set of herbs would cost 50 dollars. After they put in around 4 herbs for 13 sets we asked for, we decided to have 5 sets less because it is expensive. I understand this is my fault to not have all sets purchase as I initially asked for and if I was asked to pay for the not reusable herbs I would do it. They didn’t. At the same time, they just keep cursing at me and packed the herbs poorly. 3 herbs were instructed to be diced and 2 were supposed to be packed separately. The herbs I got includes only 1 herb packed separately and all others mixed together and not diced . This is truly unethical business doing that I was not informed any of this!! It is medicine not pairs of socks we could pick them apart in ten minutes. Moreover, as a nonprofessional in herbs, I don’t even know if we got every herb expected, which is critical for every single prescription. I can’t trust them any more. Will not shop there again. For those who are going to shop at Nam Bac Hong, please be cautious of what you’re getting especially when the employees are not in a good mood. Don’t tilt them :)
